In many projects, we need a team to produce a video. One person probably can’t make a video, especially good video.

The video making process is so long –from planning to shooting, and shooting to editing. Perhaps I should say it’s tedious. There are too many details in each process.

What kind of expertise do we need?

We need at least few people of below in a video team:
1. Producer/director
2. Director of photography (DOP)/camera operator
3. Video editor

Though video editing task can be handled by either producer/director or DOP/camera operator, it is best to be done by another person. The advantage of having two people to handle shooting and editing, is that we can have a new perspective during video editing. Rather we have a same person to shoot and edit, it limits the creativity flows of teamwork. One man show isn’t the best choice if circumstances allowed.

Whether you want to make a home video, documentary, short film, wedding video, you need at least these three people.
